Shopping

Los Angeles is full of great places to shop, from upscale stores to funky boutiques to outdoor shopping malls. You'll find everything you need at these L.A. shopping locations.

Shopping Malls

Beverly Center
Lots of designer and boutique shops, plus mainstream favorites like Victoria's Secret and Restoration Hardware. Department stores are Bloomingdale's and Macy's, including a Macy's Men's Store that carries a wide assortment of hip hop brands. Also on site, a multiplex showing smaller studio movies. If you want to see L.A.'s most beautiful and stylish residents, this is the mall to shop. Visit the Beverly Center website for more information. La Cienega between 3rd St. & Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles

Century City Mall
Beautiful outdoor mall that's very dog-friendly. Includes most of the major mainstream chains like Crate & Barrel and Banana Republic, plus some smaller niche shops and a diverse food court. Also on site, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and a multiplex showing top studio movies. Visit the Century City Mall website for more information. Santa Monica Blvd. between Ave. of the Stars & Century Park West, Los Angeles

Glendale Galleria
One of the valley's largest mall, this one has it all - from Macy's, JC Penney and Nordstrom to niche shops like The Apple Store and surf/skate apparel retailers. Be prepared to walk a lot in this mall, with stops at the well-stocked food court as needed. Visit the Glendale Galleria website for more information. Central Ave. between Broadway & Colorado, Glendale

Shopping Areas

3rd Street
Eclectic merchandise that you won't find anywhere else. Retro furniture, vintage gadgets, secondhand clothing, uber-modern knick-knacks, several niche bookstores and a bunch of high quality cafes. 3rd Street between La Cienega & Fairfax, Los Angeles

The Grove
Outdoor shopping mall featuring a trolley, musical performances, a fountain synchronized to crooner tunes and an upscale multiplex. Good selection of mainstream stores like The Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, Crate & Barrel, Nordstrom, and Victoria's Secret plus several reasonably-priced "nice" restaurants. Visit The Grove website for more information. Farfax Ave. at 3rd Street, Los Angeles

Melrose Ave
Vintage clothing, club wear, hip hop stores, coffee shops and lots of deals to be had at continual "going out of business" sales. Great place to buy inexpensive clothing that's either laid-back retro or this week's ultra-trendy look. Melrose Ave. between Fairfax & La Brea, Los Angeles

Santa Monica Promenade
Outdoor, festive strip of Third Street, a few blocks from the ocean. Lots of shops, from national chains to regional favorites, plus restaurants, street performers and several movie theatres. Visit the Downtown Santa Monica website for more information. 3rd Street between Wilshire & Broadway, Santa Monica

Rodeo Drive
You've seen it in movies and on TV - a whole street of the top luxury stores ending at the infamous Barney's New York of Winona Ryder fame. Rodeo Drive between Wilshire Blvd. & Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills

Unique Boutiques
